About the National Program Roosendaal
In Roosendaal, the livability and safety in several neighborhoods are under pressure. Residents are faced with multiple challenges at once: unemployment, poverty, educational backlogs, housing problems, and health complaints.
That’s why Roosendaal has been part of the national National Program for Livability and Safety since 2022. This program runs for 20 years and is aimed at permanent improvement of the situation in vulnerable neighborhoods. Werkplein makes a significant contribution to this: together with our partners, we want to really help residents — close by, in the neighborhood, and sometimes even behind the front door.
What will you do as a project leader?
As a project leader, you lead the implementation of Werkplein’s contribution to the National Program. You are responsible for drawing up a project plan with clear objectives, activities, planning, deployment of people and resources, and for the implementation and accountability of the results. You ensure that our efforts are well organized, yield visible results, and are supported within and outside the organization.
You are the connecting link between Werkplein, the National Program, and our network partners. Specifically, this means that you:
Draw up a project plan, with clear objectives, milestones, and an end result (in consultation with the parties involved);
Are responsible for the implementation of the projects in which Werkplein is involved within the National Program;
Enthuse colleagues within the Roosendaal work area and ensure coordination with the area connector, policy, communication, area connector, and management;
Represent Werkplein in the various consultation structures of the program;
Involve, inform, and enthuse colleagues within Werkplein about the neighborhood-oriented approach and other projects within the national program;
Strengthen the cooperation with our network partners and build trust and continuity;
Increase the visibility and accessibility of Werkplein in the neighborhood – residents know where to find us and value our efforts.
What have you achieved after 1 year?
There is a supported project plan with concrete objectives;
Werkplein is actively and visibly present within the projects of the National Program, in the neighborhood, and is recognized as a reliable partner;
Colleagues and partners know how and for what they can approach you;
The cooperation with network partners has been strengthened, and joint initiatives have been launched;
The progress has been made transparent in reports and accountability has been given for the results achieved.
Why is this role so important?
The expectations around the National Program are high. Not participating is not an option. That’s why we are looking for a strong project leader who can switch between policy, implementation, and residents — and inspire others in the process. Your efforts will partly determine how Werkplein shapes its role in these neighborhoods in the coming years.
