Job Opportunity: Data Scientist at Schiphol
At Schiphol, our Security Insights team is dedicated to transforming data into operational intelligence. We design and deliver data products that assist in managing aviation security operations, from daily planning to long-term strategy. As the demand for advanced analytics grows, we are prepared to scale our capabilities and lay the groundwork for machine learning and AI use cases across the airport.
Role Overview
We are in search of a Data Scientist who will take full ownership of modelling and algorithm development for capacity forecasting within our team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping Schiphol’s data science capabilities in the field of security operations. Your first mission will be to design and deliver a robust, future-proof Security Capacity demand forecasting model. You will work closely with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders, and you will be empowered to help define the roadmap for data science-related work within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of statistical models for operational forecasting.
Define and validate data requirements for modelling use cases.
Contribute to the creation of a scalable and reliable forecasting product.
Work closely with the Data Analyst and Product Owner/Business Analyst to align on product goals.
Present findings and model outputs to business stakeholders.
Collaborate with the DnA platform and other data science colleagues across Schiphol.
Help identify and prioritize new AI/ML use cases in aviation security.
Support the implementation or handoff of models into production environments.

What We’re Looking For
Proven experience designing and implementing forecasting or statistical models.
Experience with productionizing models (ML Ops concepts).
Strong Python skills and understanding of modelling best practices.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Comfortable working independently within a product team setting.
Capable of taking the lead in shaping the data science direction of the team.
Familiar with agile and cross-functional ways of working.
Preferably native Dutch speaking.

De procedure verloopt via een aanbesteding. De eerste introductie doen wij daarom op papier.
- We werken samen een offerte uit waarin we toelichten waarom jouw profiel aansluit op de gestelde eisen en wensen.
- We verzamelen de benodigde stukken indien gevraagd zoals referenties, diploma's, motivatiebrief, VOG etc...
- Op basis van data bepalen we een kansrijk uurtarief voor de offerte. Jij hebt zelf natuurlijk het laatste woord in het biedingstarief.
Wij houden van eerlijk en transparant zaken doen.
Als je aan slag gaat via Bij Oranje hanteren we de
volgende voorwaarden:
- We vragen 10% marge over je uurtarief voor de duur van de opdracht.
- We betalen je factuur binnen 21 dagen, je hoeft dus niet op je geld te wachten!
- Als jij je opdracht goed doet en daardoor bij de dezelfde opdrachtgever een nieuwe opdracht mag doen dan ben je daar volledig vrij in! We hanteren geen concurrentie-/ relatiebeding.
Wij houden van eerlijk en transparant zaken doen.
Als je aan de slag gaat via Bij Oranje Detachering dan
hanteren we de volgende voorwaarden:
- We vullen samen een loonheffingsverklaring in en tekenen een overeenkomst van opdracht.
- We rekenen 15% marge van je uurtarief voor de duur van de opdracht. Het resterende bedrag verlonen we volledig als brutoloon.
- Binnen 21 dagen na het ontvangen van je getekende urenstaat, ontvang je de netto-betaling op je bankrekening. Je hoeft dus niet op je geld te wachten!
- Als jij je opdracht goed doet en daardoor bij dezelfde opdrachtgever een nieuwe opdracht mag doen dan ben je daar volledig vrij in! We hanteren geen concurrentie-/relatiebeding.
Je hebt nog 5 dagen om te reageren.
Reageer minstens 1 dag voor de sluitingstijd van deze opdracht.
