About KPN & the QCarbon / Kult Team Within KPN we are building and operating world class networks (No.1 globally in 5G) and continuously digitalising our processes. A key part of this is developing secure, reliable and scalable internal platforms that support critical business operations. The QCarbon / Kult team develops and maintains a suite of security applications that support Business Continuity Management and Penetration Test Management. These applications are business critical and used across the organisation. We are a DevOps product team consisting of:
- 4 experienced, knowledge driven engineers
- 1 product owner
- 1 scrum master The team is international, based in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), and works in a hybrid setup. We collaborate closely with stakeholders from Security, Infrastructure, AWS and the business. Stakeholders actively join refinement sessions and sprint moments and visit the team weekly at the office. Currently, we are rebuilding the backend from Django / Django REST Framework / Redis to FastAPI and SQLAlchemy, running in Docker on AWS. This modernisation is expected to be finalised in summer ’26 and will enable new functional and technical features. The frontend plays a key role in effectively consuming these APIs and ensuring a consistent, secure and high quality user experience. Position overview QCarbon is crucial to making Business Continuity Management a success within KPN. As a frontend developer, you contribute to a security-critical platform where correctness, consistency and maintainability are essential. You will work on complex security applications where correctness, consistency and clarity are essential. This role requires not only a strong technical foundation, but also an understanding of the functional and business context in which the application is used. You work closely with your teammates and stakeholders, contributing directly to design decisions, implementation and continuous improvement of the platform. Key responsibilities

- Angular Framework (latest versions): production-grade experience with component architecture, services, dependency injection, routing and lifecycle management, including architectural decisions in feature/module design and real-world application structure.
- TypeScript: advanced types, decorators, interfaces, generics, and modern ES6+ features for robust frontend applications
- NgRx State Management: Store, Effects, Selectors and Entity patterns for managing complex application state and data flow, including state modeling, store design decisions and separation of concerns in production applications.
- Component Design: Reusable component libraries, design systems, and maintainable UI architecture patterns
- Frontend Fundamentals: Advanced HTML markup and modern CSS (Grid, Flexbox, animations)
- UI Components: Angular Material or Material UI for consistent design system implementation and accessible user interfaces
- Version Control: Advanced Git workflows, branching strategies, code review processes, and collaborative development practices. Strong plus (expected to grow into quickly)
- CI/CD Pipelines: Understanding of automated testing, build optimization, deployment strategies, and continuous integration workflows
- Containerization: Practical experience with Docker for development environments and/or Kubernetes for scalable deployment orchestration
- Unit Testing: Jasmine/Karma testing suite for component testing, service testing, and test-driven development practices
